Sia Is Working With FKA twigs

Sia just dropped her uplifting new single “Alive” today (September 24), and it’s off her forthcoming album This Is Acting, which is entirely comprised of songs she wrote for other artists. And in a new interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, after claiming she originally shopped the song around to Adele and Rihanna with something like a million-dollar price tag (!), she also revealed she’s cooking up something with FKA twigs. This is exciting news because any time FKA twigs works with anyone it’s exciting.

“I’m going to write with Twigs,” she told Lowe, as reported by NME. “I don’t normally write with artists, it just makes it harder and takes longer for me. It’s easier for me to write the songs and just pitch them.”

More:: Why FKA twigs is even better than we thought

As for what we can expect from the marriage of twigs’ avant-electro leanings with Sia’s penchant for rafter-reaching anthems, she said, “We’re going to get some crazy choruses.” And perhaps we got a little hint of what they’ve got in mind when twigs covered “Elastic Heart” for BBC Radio 1 earlier this month.

Let’s hope they collaborate on the accompanying visuals as well.
