One Direction Announce New Single “Perfect”: See The Cover Art
With the release of One Direction’s fifth LP Made In The A.M. on the horizon (November 13), it’s about time for the guys to follow up lead single “Drag Me Down.” Their next hit, “Perfect,” drops October 16 and is described in the press release as “an emotionally charged ironic love song featuring passionate drumming, rousing guitars, shimmering synths and an immense chorus.” They had me at passionate drumming!
Written by Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson (with a little help from hitmakers Julian Bunetta, Jesse Shatkin, Jacob Kasher, John Ryan and Maureen Anne McDonald), “Perfect” has a lot to live up to given the success of “Drag Me Down.” 1D’s first single without Zayn Malik peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band’s second-highest charting single to date. Only 2013 smash “Best Song Ever” has peaked higher.
