Save for appearing on The Peanuts Movie soundtrack, Meghan Trainor has been laying low since her vocal surgery. Now, the singer is ready to return to the stage — as she proved yesterday (October 14) on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Meghan was joined by John Legend for an intimate performance of their romantic duet, “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” — the latest single off her debut Title LP. Along with entertaining the audience, Meghan sat down with Ellen for her first post-surgery interview that led to a cancelled tour.

During the time when she was healing her voice, Meghan interacted with a mystery man that set off rumors. “There was a guy that I Instragrammed and I didn’t put a caption, so the whole world freaked out, AKA all my Megatrons. All the fans were like, ‘What is this?’,” the 21-year-old stated. “It was just a little nothing. Nothing. But I did get a great song out of it.”

Meghan continued to reveal that a good song came out of the ordeal, titled “Lead Me On” — we’re giving her the side-eye on that one! Watch the “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” performance up top, and catch her interview with Ellen below.
