UPDATE: BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw hints that Adele’s new single could possibly drop next Friday (October 30). Listen to him kind of confirm the news at the 01:16:34 mark.

There has been endless speculation about Adele‘s forthcoming album from almost everyone but the singer herself — until now! Today (October 21), the UK starlet broke her silence to confirm the project in the form of a letter.

Apologizing for the music delay, Adele states: “I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.” She continued, “My last record was a break-up record and if i had to label this one I could call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”

“But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done. Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties,” Adele reveals shortly before confirming that 25 is in fact the title of her follow-up album to 19 and 21.

This news comes after a snippet of new music popped up in UK television commercial a few days prior. Adele will also be a guest on Chris Evans-hosted series TFI Friday in the coming weeks.
