Celine Dion Begins Work On New French Language Album
After taking a break from touring and recording to care for husband Rene Angelil, Celine Dion is back at work. The pop icon has started recording the follow-up to 2012 French language LP Sans Attendre. She tweeted a picture from the studio earlier this morning (October 22), which shows the diva reading sheet music with Algerian-born singer Zaho. The as-yet untitled album is expected to arrive in 2016.
While the 47-year-old experienced moderate commercial success with 2013 English LP Loved Me Back To Life, Sans Attendre performed spectacularly in the French-speaking world. It was the highest selling album of 2012 in France and is estimated to have sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide. That opus featured collaborations with old-timers Johnny Hallyday, Henri Salvador and Jean-Pierre Ferland, so it’s exciting to see her working with a contemporary artist like Zaho.
