Last summer, Katy Perry volunteered to write Hillary Clinton a theme song if she was to run for president in 2016 — never mind that Hillary hadn’t even announced that she was running.

Fast forward to October 25: While Katy has yet to write that song, she did show her support for Hillary at a Democratic rally in Des Moines, Iowa. That day she dressed in red, white and blue, with an American flag sewn onto her white gown and a Hillary pin on her chest. To a crowd of 4,000 supporters, she sang “America, the Beautiful” and select hits from her own catalog, like Prism lead single “Roar,” MSNBC reports.

While Hillary wasn’t even scheduled to appear, she popped up on stage anyway to express her approval. “Sometimes it’s important — you just have to roar about what you need to fight for!” she said.
