Watch Jason Derulo Cover Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”
Jason Derulo recently stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and performed a cover of Fetty Wap‘s “Trap Queen.” Lyric sheet in hand, Derulo had some initial trouble staying in the pocket as he followed along, but overall his lightly Auto-Tuned tenor turned the breakout hit of 2015 into a caramel-smooth jam.
It’s an interesting cover because it shows that without Fetty’s inimitable melodi-croak, “Trap Queen” becomes a fairly straightforward, swaggering R&B anthem.
