Ruth B hopes to follow in the footsteps of Shawn Mendes and Tori Kelly by leveraging social media fame into a successful pop music career. The 20-year-old got off to a flying start earlier this year when pretty ballad “Lost Boy” went viral. She released the track independently and surprised many by reaching the top 100 on iTunes. That success caught the attention of Columbia Records and the Peter Pan-themed anthem is now getting a major label push.

“I am a lost boy from Neverland, usually hanging out with Peter Pan,” the singer/songwriter sings over a simple piano arrangement. “And when we’re bored we play in the woods, always on the run from Captain Hook.” It’s nostalgic, more than a little bittersweet and aptly showcases Ruth’s smooth vocals. The “Lost Boy” lyric video arrived yesterday (Novembe 4) and is comprised of fan art. Her debut EP The Intro drops November 27.
