Erykah Badu released the best of the “Hotline Bling” remixes last month, but her Drake streak isn’t over, as she’s back with a new track dedicated to Aubrey (it’s entirely possible that she is speaking about the Aubrey Davis with a writing credit on the song, but that’s not as SEO-friendly now is it?). On “Phone Down,” Badu confidently mews “I can make you put your phone down” over an airy beat that isn’t too far removed from something the 6 God himself would hop onto, courtesy of Zach Witness.
The new song is off her forthcoming But You Caint Use My Phone mixtape, which drops Thanksgiving weekend and is hopefully centered around the concept of ignoring our phones in favor of freaking. Listen below.
