Seven Questions With Matthew Koma
We speak to Matthew Koma about his acoustic EP and writing smash "Clarity."

After featuring on a long list of club hits (Zedd’s “Spectrum,” Alesso’s “Years” and Tiesto’s “Wasted”), Matthew Koma dropped his first single for RCA Records in August. A dance/pop anthem with a sunny sax hook, “So F**kin’ Romantic” showcases the 27-year-old’s smooth vocals and knack for penning memorable lyrics — a skill that’s in high demand with pop divas, rappers and country superstars alike. (He’s been in the studio with Hilary Duff, Brooke Candy and Shania Twain).

We’re excited to premiere the acoustic version of “So F**kin’ Romantic.” The song sounds just as good performed on Matthew’s guitar and a behind-the-scenes video (up top) gives you some idea of how the track was pieced together. With two EPs in the can (2012’s Parachute and 2013’s The Cherrytree Sessions), it’s high time for the talented singer/songwriter to drop his debut LP. Fingers crossed it arrives in 2016.
