Adele Posed As An Adele Impersonator: Watch
What makes for a good Adele impersonator? For the BBC’s November 20 U.K. special Adele at the BBC, Adele herself agreed to find out.
In this elaborate prank, Adele impersonators audition for what they think is a chance to perform at an Adele tribute show. Meanwhile, the 25 singer goes undercover as “Jenny.” She pays close attention to how the others wave their hands as they sing. When one remembers to kick off her heels once her feet hurt, as Adele would do, she seems impressed.
Adele wears a prosthetic nose and chin for the part, though what is more amazing is how she has clearly thought through her character’s backstory. “Jenny” speaks slowly and carefully because she is a nanny and that is what nannies do, Adele says. Meanwhile, she fakes out the impersonators by appearing visibly nervous while waiting in line. “I’m actually feeling quite sick,” she tells one, before she actually started singing to bowl everyone else over.
