Adele x Drake
Adele wants to remix Drake's "Hotline Bling." That's not such an outlandish idea.

UPDATE: That ain’t Drake.

While inspired by Drake‘s “Hotline Bling,” Erykah Badu recorded and released a mixtape of phone-themed songs at midnight today (November 27).

The end result, But You Caint Use My Phone, is about staying interconnected as it features a few artists now closely associated with the experimental R&B singer: Her “Hotline Bling” remix, which she co-wrote with her and Andre 3000‘s son Seven, is featured here as “Cel U Lar” Device.” Drake himself takes charge in fifth track “U Use to Call Me,” as he boasts over earning her co-sign (“Erykah my hotline / recognition from a great / man, about time). Conclusion “Hello” is a lesson by Three Stacks himself, on what can happen when you (gasp!) set your phone aside; a flip of the romantic “Hello It’s Me,” as recorded by the Isley Brothers, helps set the mood.

But You Caint Use My Phone, produced by Zach Witnessin, is available exclusively on iTunes to purchase (tip, via Pitchfork: search for the title, as it isn’t featured on Erykah’s artist page) and Apple Music to stream for the next week. You can also listen here until its December 4 worldwide release.
