For those still shuddering at the rumors of Maroon 5 possibly taking over 2016’s Super Bowl halftime show — have no fear! Today (December 3), US Weekly confirms that Coldplay are officially booked for the coveted stage.

Back in September, reports surfaced that Bruno Mars was offered to headline next year’s halftime show in Santa Clara, California. But sources now state the “Uptown Funk” singer will be involved in the event “in some capacity” and that Coldplay plan to bring along some of their famous friends on stage. Beyonce is among one of the features off the band’s forthcoming album, so it is possible she may make an appearance.

The Super Bowl 50 will take place on Sunday, February 7. The UK rockers are also gearing up for the release of their seventh (and possibly final) album — A Head Full Of Dreams — on December 4.
