Madonna pulled Nelly Furtado on stage for "Unapologetic Bitch" at her recent show.

Dev Hynes surprised the crowd at his December 12 concert in New York’s Bowery Ballroom with his latest collaborator.

Before the show, the producer-songwriter announced that he and Nelly Furtado recorded a collaborative cassette titled Hadron Collider. Then on stage, Dev brought out Nelly for the live debut of Hadron Collider track “Hadron.” Their lyrics are romantic on paper (“You should be dancing with the angels / a thousand halos in the sky“), though the two of them sing with over this wash of instrumentation with sadness and longing. “Hadron” is unlike anything Nelly has done before, as they both made clear with the acoustic rendition of 2006’s “Say It Right” that followed.

Hadron Collider was only made available at Dev’s concert, a charity show benefitting the Opus 118 Harlem School of Music (though, let’s hope that he makes it available worldwide soon). Watch the highlights featuring Nelly Furtado below.
