Hilary Duff Delivers An Electro-Pop Cover Of Fleetwood Mac’s “Little Lies”

Hilary Duff surprised fans with new music today (December 16) in the form of an electro-pop cover of Fleetwood Mac’s 1987 smash “Little Lies” (below). She recorded the track to promote her hit TV show Younger at the suggestion of the network. “TV Land called me,” the 28-year-old told People magazine. “They were like, ‘We want you to cover a song for the promos for the second season.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. Yes, of course, I would love to.'”
While any new music from Hilary is a blessing from above, this cover doesn’t work for me. The plodding electronic production (courtesy of Alex and Adam Anders) completely overwhelms Fleetwood Mac’s delicate Tango In The Night smash and makes the “Sparks” diva sound like Siri’s older sister. Why couldn’t they have used one of the many gems on Breath In. Breathe Out.? It remains the most underrated album of 2015.
