Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” Single, Originally Meant For Rihanna, Arrives: Listen
After teasing her new single two days ago, Sia has now unveiled “Cheap Thrills” in full — which first premiered on Beats 1. Originally meant for Rihanna, the This Is Acting fourth single finds Sia digging in a tropical groove.
Co-written by producer Greg Kurstin (Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Adele), “Cheap Thrills” finds a blissful Sia singing about being satisfied with her humble lifestyle over a colorful, island-inspired tropical house beat: “I don’t need no money / As long as I can feel the beat.” The pop tune fits in with the effervescent trend found in songs like Major Lazer‘s “Lean On” and Justin Bieber‘s “What Do You Mean?”
Look out for This Is Acting, which also includes “Alive,” “Bird Set Free” (both of which are Adele rejects) and “One Million Bullets,” on January 29. Get into the singer’s new “Cheap Thrills” single below.
