Coldplay's Super Bowl Rumors
Beyonce and Rihanna are reportedly joining the band during its Super Bowl halftime show.

For three decades up until his 2014 death, Leonard Knight constructed Salvation Mountain in southern California out of adobo, hay and half a million gallons of paint. The end result is a 50-foot-tall, sloping playground with painted flowers, trees, waterfalls and (most notably) messages like “God Is Love.”

That sort of “heal the world” mission behind Salvation Mountain is likely why Coldplay features it in their “Birds” video, released January 2. Directed by Marcus Haney, the hazy, psychedelic clip features little else but the UK band basking in Salvation Mountain in all its surreal glory, which suits the song’s hopeful lyrics like “Close your eyes and see / we’ll be birds flying free / holding on in the mystery.”

“Birds” is a highlight off Coldplay’s latest album A Head Full of Dreams. Watch the video below.
