Coachella 2016 Lineup: Guns N’ Roses, LCD Soundsystem, Calvin Harris To Headline

Coachella has a way of staging can’t-miss-it live music moments, and this year’s upcoming fest, set to take place the weekend of Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17 in Indio, California, looks to be no exception.

Two band reunions with appeal to two different generations of fans are set to happen: those of James Murphy‘s new millennium alt-dance act LCD Soundsystem and hard-rockin’ ’80s legends Guns N’ Roses, who are set to hit the main stage that Friday and Saturday, respectively. Rounding out the weekend’s headliners is top-paid DJ Calvin Harris, who will dish out his set of chart-ruling beats on Sunday night.

So here’s the thing with the GNR lineup: it’s a toss-up as to who exactly will show up once April rolls around. Los Angeles radio station KROQ notes that Axl Rose and Slash, who haven’t performed together in two decades, are rumored to be the main original members hitting the stage. Other reports have original bassist Duff McKagan attached, and no one has mentioned guitarist Izzy Stradlin, who quit the band in 1991 but was on hand for Guns N’ Roses’ Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction in 2012. All that said, there has been no official word as to the members who are on board, and Axl just pulled out of a planned appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live that was set for tonight (December 5), where he was expected to detail the GNR reunion.

So it seems, at the very least, you can count on the band’s longstanding penchant for drama to be a part of the mix. Catch the announced Coachella 2016 lineup below.
