Kanye West’s Full ‘American Idol’ Audition Arrives: Watch
An unexpected but very awesome clip of Kanye West‘s “audition” for American Idol surfaced last October. But yesterday (January 4), the rapper’s full appearance arrived.
The two-minute clip begins with an incredibly jovial Yeezy introducing himself as a guy from the Southside of Chicago. “Originally a producer, I always wanted to rap and no one really believed in me,” he half-jokes.
Proud wife Kim Kardashian West is seen outside the audition room alongside Ryan Seacrest, where she tells the host she isn’t nervous and she really believes in Ye. The rapper then goes on to perform his 2005 hit “Gold Digger” (which shouts out judge Jennifer Lopez) and walks away with a golden ticket!
Along with helping to promote AI, Kanye has been busy with dropping new songs like New Year’s Eve’s “Facts.” View his audition below, and look out for the 15th (and final) season of American Idol on January 6.
