Sevyn Streeter kicks off 2016 with a raw, acoustic performance of Shoulda Been There, Pt. 1 highlight “Love In Competition.” Accompanied only by guitarist Chris Morgan, the R&B diva delivers a hefty emotional punch as she sings about the beginning of the end of a relationship. She nails the vocal (as usual) and is obviously singing from the heart. “I love the rawness of just singing with a guitar,” she tweeted this morning (January 5).

The “It Won’t Stop” hitmaker was busy in 2015 — dropping an EP and a series of remixes from a female perspective. This year should see the release of her debut LP On The Verge, which sums up her “thoughts, desires, fears, tears, emotional ups, downs, good times, drunk nights & unforgettable memories.” While we wait for new music to arrives, watch the 29-year-old belt out “Love In Competition” on top.
