We premiere the NYC singer's trippy visual for her retro-sounding single.

In spring 2015, we premiered both Miss Velvet‘s trippy “Cincinnati Street” and its accompanying video. The track, a collaboration with Pnau and Empire Of The Sun mastermind Nick Littlemore, is just one of several that will appear on MV’s forthcoming LP, Dreams Are Not For Us, which is set for a release sometime in May. The album was produced by Constance Hauman and features contributions from Littlemore’s Pnau mate Peter Mayes, plus Henry Hey and Eddie Kramer.

“Miss Velvet sits in a whimsical universe, one that’s raw and somewhere between dream and nightmares,” the mysterious singer told Idolator at the time. “The sound evokes the treasures of the music, cinema, and pop culture of the ’60s and ’70s.”

In the lead-up to the New York-based singer’s debut album’s release, Miss Velvet and her band The Blue Wolf will be staging a residency at the Gramercy Park Hotel that kicks off next week, on January 13, and carries on every other Wednesday through February 24. She’ll also be supporting with Ozomatli and Lucky Chops at the Highline Ballroom on Friday, January 15.
