Last month, Nelly Furtado hopped on stage for a surprise performance with Blood Orange‘s Dev Hynes for their “Hadron Collider” tune. Now the unexpected but very welcomed collaborative track has been released.

The song, which was first exclusively available in cassette form, made its way online and is a breathy and sweeping ballad — which blends Hynes’ 80’s-inspired indie pop sonic charm and Nelly’s breathy, romantic lyrics. “We should be dancing with the angels / A thousand halos in the sky / But we’re too far from heaven,” she croons on the wobbling track.

Nelly Furtado has been slowing creeping back into the music scene, as she was Madonna‘s “bitch” during her Rebel Heart Tour stop in October and possible talks of working with Duke Dumont almost a year and a half ago. But there is still no word if Nelly is planning to drop new solo music this year.

In the meantime, though, get into “Hadron Collider” below.
