Editorial: Farewell To David Bowie
Our take on the loss of pop and rock's one-of-a-kind, unrivaled chameleon.

2016 is the year of Zayn Malik, as the singer is gearing up for his solo spotlight. The latest addition to the artist’s promotional run is covering the January issue of L’Uomo Vogue.

Zayn channels his inner Zoolander in the Ellen von Unwerth-photographed editorial, while posing in various shirtless flicks and sexily brooding into the camera.

For the interview, the former One Direction star discusses his next step in music. “Now that I can really be myself and make music that feels honest to me, it doesn’t feel like work. It really is relaxing to me. When I decided to leave, it wasn’t a big build up, it had always been underlying. I never felt like I belonged in the group, I was just doing it because at the time, I felt like it was the right place for me to be,” he told the magazine.

In his Billboard cover story released last week, Zayn revealed he’s not in contact with any of his former bandmates. He stated, “I had every intention of remaining friends with everybody, but I guess certain phone numbers have changed and I haven’t received calls from a lot of people. I’ve reached out to a few of them and not got a reply. Certain people have pride issues, but it’s stuff you overcome in time.” No word of when the singer’s debut solo single will drop, but it’s clear he won’t be stuck in the past.
