Kanye West & Miley Cyrus’ “Black Skinhead” Remix Surfaces: Listen

After the 2013 MTV VMAs, Kanye West made waves by reportedly hitting the studio with Miley Cyrus for a “Black Skinhead” remix. Remember, this was at the height of her “controversial” “awakening,” and when Kanye was in peak ego-troll mode. It was a whole big thing. A few weeks later, Mike Will Made It confirmed that the remix was almost finished, but after nearly two-and-a-half years, it seemed like it was all a myth. Until today, as a purported leaked version of the remix has surfaced.

Conspiracy Theory:: Is Kanye's cousin behind the "Black Skinhead" leak?

It starts out with Miley interpolating Tears For Fears‘ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” which makes an odd sort of sense when you remember Kanye was describing himself as a black new wave artist during the Yeezus rollout. The beat is a lot less chaotic for this version, pairing bass rumbles and that “Jump Around” screech with dinky keyboard melodies, and Travi$ Scott‘s robo-groans are peppered in. There’s a Lupe Fiasco feature billed on the probably-fake artwork as well, but to my ears he’s not on the track.

Hear the seemingly legit leak below.
