Kanye West & Kendrick Lamar Hit The Studio Last Night

Kanye West was hunkered down in the studio last night (January 21) with some of his real friends, including Kendrick Lamar and Swizz Beatz, and he decided to activate his Twitter fingers to chronicle the session. Or to draw attention away from the leak of that Miley Cyrus-assisted “Black Skinhead” remix. Either way.

Among the tidbits gleaned from the posts: Madlib sent Ye and Kendrick six CDs of beats and CyHi The Prince is still alive and a functioning member of the G.O.O.D. Music crew.

Swish List:: A timeline of clues & rumors about the new LP

Even though SWISH is out February 11, based on West’s past working habits, it’s entirely possible that he was still working on the album last night. So were they all touching up “Real Friends” and “No More Parties In L.A.” for SWISH? Were Kanye and Kendrick working on something else entirely, like a one-off track for today’s Friday release? Was it related to the launch of Yeezy Season 3? We may literally never know, because this album rollout has been about as directionless and secretive as it gets.

But at least there were no Kardashian sightings.
