UPDATE: (1/26/16) Jessie J’s official version of “Grease” is now available. Watch her soundtrack recording session below, which features behind-the-scenes clips with Carly Rae Jepsen, Keke Palmer, Vannesa Hudges, Julianne Hough and more.

FOX’s Grease: Live television musical is right around the corner, and today (January 25) a new taste of what’s to come has arrived! “Grease (Is The Word)” is the unforgettable opening track of the timeless 1978 film, and now Jessie J is putting her own spin on it.

The UK songstress utilizes her signature bold vocals to add more soul and spunk to the upbeat pop tune.”There’s no pressure like being the first one on stage. I love that rush of the nerves I’m going to get, I just feel very honored and very lucky that I’ve been asked to experience something like this,” she says about recording the tune (she wanted to stick with the original melody).

Along with Jessie, Carly Rae Jepsen (who will portray Frenchy) is also set to sing a new track for the musical. As for that classic “Beauty School Dropout” scene? Boyz II Men will be performing!

Look out for Grease: Live when it airs on Fox on January 31 at 7 p.m. ET live/PT tape-delayed. The musical’s soundtrack will be available February 1. But in the meantime, though, get into “Grease (Is The Word)” below while comparing it to Frankie Valli‘s original.
