Kendrick Lamar Celebrates Compton In New Grammy Promo: Watch
The 58th annual Grammy Awards are around the corner, and one artist that everyone is rooting for this year is Kendrick Lamar. Now, in what I hope to be a moment of foreshadowing, the artist stars in a new promo for the awards ceremony.
Titled “Witness Greatness,” the clip highlights the rapper’s hometown of Compton as locals recite lyrics of his uplifting “Alright” anthem in their own unique way. K. Dot then joins the crowd towards the end for a fun and motivational live performance of the tune.
Kendrick leads the Grammy pack this year, as the rapper scored 11 nominations (including Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year for To Pimp A Butterfly and Best Rap Performance.) He, along with Adele, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Pitbull and more, will also perform at the show.
LL Cool J returns as the ceremony’s host, while Lionel Richie will receive a special tribute. Look out for the 2016 Grammys live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on February 15, and check out Kendrick’s promo up top.
