Selena Gomez's 'Revival' LP is a career-defining gem. Read our detailed review.

Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez’s much-anticipated collaboration “We Don’t Talk Anymore” has been released early after leaking over the weekend and it sounds like a smash. Which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given that they are both riding once-in-a-career hot streaks. From the snippets the duo shared on Instagram, it was clear they were working on a break-up song — but this is unexpectedly upbeat given the lyrical content.

“I just heard you found the one you’ve been looking, you’ve been looking for,” Charlie begins the duet. “I wish I would have known that wasn’t me.” He then fires off a couple of half-hearted accusations, before arriving at the sing-along, tropical wave-influenced chorus. Selena finds herself similarly afflicted: “Don’t want to know if you’re lookin’ into her eyes, if she’s holding onto you so tight they way I did before.” Maybe the pop stars sound happy/relieved because they’ve finally found someone to share the misery?

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Marvin Gaye” hitmaker hinted at “We Don’t Talk Anymore” being the next single from debut LP Nine Track Mind (due January 29) when he mentioned potentional video treatments. However, that will have to wait a while. His current single “One Call Away” is headed for the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 as is Selena’s sexy “Hands To Myself.”
