The nominees for the 27th annual GLAAD Media Awards have been announced, and Glamberts will be happy to note the inclusion of Adam Lambert in the Outstanding Music Artist category. Lambert was recognized for his third LP The Original High, which was released last June.

The American Idol alum faces competition from 20-year-old pop newcomer from Down Under Troye Sivan, who has steadily built up a huge online following in recent years and released his debut LP Blue Neighbourhood in December.

Also nominated for Outstanding Music Artist: Frequently-nude Miley Cyrus, current Grammy nominee Brandy Carlile and New York City rapper Le1f.

Since 1990, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation have held the GLAAD Media Awards to honor various branches of the media for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. As with previous years, two ceremonies will be held: one at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton hotel on April 2 and one at New York’s Waldorf Astoria on May 14.
