The Weeknd‘s “The Hills” was one of the most improbable #1s in recent memory and it’s one of those generous hits that gives lots of other artists mileage with their covers. The latest to take a stab at the sinister single is rising UK singer Dua Lipa, who performed a cover for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

It’s an interesting choice since her music thus far has been much warmer and more playful, but she plays the part well, utilizing her husky register on the verses and riding a synth-pop disco rush for the chorus.

Watch her rendition below, along with a performance of her own single “Be The One.”
