Is Little Boots The Mystery Singer On This ROOM8 Song?
L.A. electro-pop duo ROOM8 just premiered the sleek “Better Than Music,” and it features a singer going by the name of Christina. But fans of a certain brand of dance-pop will almost immediately feel a smack of recognition from the voice, and as it turns out, Billboard says Christina is “a pseudonym for a very well-known electronic pop artist.”
And we think it’s Little Boots. The calm and classy delivery over ’80s plinko synths, the slight “s” lisp, the fact that Christina is Little Boots’ middle name — it’s gotta be her. We’ve also considered it could be Norwegian singer Annie, who has a similar register and flourishes in the same part of the electro-pop spectrum, but to our ears there’s no hint of an accent here.
