The Weeknd Reuniting With Nabil For “Acquainted” Video
It looks like “Acquainted” will be The Weeknd‘s next Beauty Behind The Madness single, and for the video he’s reuniting with Nabil. The photographer/director last worked with The Weeknd on the wild 3D video for the Eminem-assisted remix of “The Hills,” and last night (February 9) he posted a photo from the first day of the shoot on Instagram.
Despite The Weeknd’s standing as a pop superstar, he has maintained this image of the debauched Lothario in his music. However, with polite lyrics like “Girl, I’m so glad we’re acquainted,” this latest single could expose pop fans to his slightly softer side. Musically, at least; who knows what they’ve got in store for the visuals. But based on Nabil’s work with the likes of Kanye West (“Welcome To Heartbreak”), FKA twigs (“Two Weeks”), Frank Ocean (“Pyramids”) and Travi$ Scott (“Piss On Your Grave”), it’ll be something arresting.
