2016 Grammy Awards Nominees: Meet Our New Picks
We share alternative music options based on 2016's Grammys categories.

We’ve finally reached the weekend, Idolator readers! The past few days were filled with major music moments, which kicked off with Beyonce unexpectedly dropping her video for “Formation.”

She also joined Bruno Mars and Coldplay for Super Bowl 50’s halftime show and announced a Formation World Tour. Kanye West turned Madison Square Garden into a The Life Of Pablo listening party/fashion show, and Gwen Stefani delivered her stunning “Make Me Like You” single.

On Idolator’s end, we interviewed Take That’s Gary Barlow and Cardinox, provided music alternatives based on the 2016 Grammys nominees, premiered Penguin Prison‘s “Show Me The Way” video, rallied another Pop Perspective of Gwen’s new single and wrote an obligatory thinkpiece (you knew it was coming) on Kanye West and social media.

And of course, our readers spoke their minds on the going-ons in the frantic music world. Read some of the best and shadiest comments below!

:: Derek had some slick shade on Beyoncé Announces Formation World Tour: See The Teaser & Tour Dates: “Glad to see Shakira inspires Bey in every era, even after all these years. She looked beautiful in the ad.”

:: pawner88 shared Super Bowl thoughts Coldplay, Beyoncé & Bruno Mars Rule 2016 Super Bowl’s Halftime Show: Watch: “It was the 50th anniversary and they asked Coldplay to be the main act? A mistake they quickly realized as they called in Bruno and Beyonce to perform as well; two artists who have already had the opportunity a few years back. How original. They slathered the band with so much extra star power and it still bit the big one! Madonna, in my opinion, is the only artists in recent years to put on a cohesive wildly entertaining show that included other artists in a smart and creative way.”

:: Mierzwiak made us chuckle on Watch Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl 50 National Anthem: “Can’t focus on the anthem, because all I see is one of the worst, if not the worst wig of her career.”

:: funbunn40 disagreed with Beyonce’s decision on Beyoncé Pays Homage To Black Panthers At Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show: “I thought Beyonce’s Black Panther tribute was out of place for the Super Bowl. I well remember how militant & filled with hateful rhetoric they were. I respected Martin Luther King, but not the Black Panthers that Beyonce glorified. I just didn’t think the Super Bowl was the place to display her political views. Her portrayal disparages all police, which does the good ones a major disservice. I’m all for equal treatment under the law with violators prosecuted, black, white, police or criminals, but her performance was devisive at an event where people were there to support their fave teams, not a political rally.”

:: Thomas Alex Dugrosprez made us LOL on Gwen Stefani Teases New Solo Album: See The Tracklist & Title: BYE “SPARK THE FIRE” GO BACK INTO OBLIVION WHERE YOU BELONG!!! Quite excited for the Mattman & Robin-produced tracks tho.

:: As did xSushi on Pitbull Cruises Through His “Freedom” Video: Watch The Magic Unfurl: “He has become that old dancing man from the Six Flags commercials.”
