Nick Jonas: “My Album Is Finished”
Get ready for some new music from Nick Jonas. On February 19 the pop star posted a video where he smokes a Cuban cigar after getting some hard work done: “I’m sitting here smoking this fantastic Behike 54 because the album is finished.”
Nick’s new album follows 2014’s self-titled one, where he earned plenty of comparisons to Justin Timberlake because of how he used R&B to further distance himself from his boy band past. Nick Jonas further solidified his solo career, thanks to hit singles like “Jealous” and “Chains”; the X-2 re-release, featuring “Levels”, also helped.
In a Complex cover story, he says that his new album is inspired by his breakup from model and actress Olivia Culpo. “Naturally I’m going to pull a lot from that,” he says. “Not even so much about that relationship in particular, but about my state of mind, who I want to be. [About how] I’m meeting new people, and what that has been like.”
The follow-up will also be Nick’s first release via his and Demi Lovato‘s new label Safehouse Records. See his announcement below.
