Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home”: Watch The Video For 2016’s First Big, Sexy Party Jam

Well, surprise, surprise — it turns out that whole Rihanna blip on the radar with “Work” and whatever that album was she tossed out a few weeks back was just a warm-up for the year’s real early contender for Sexy Party Jam: Fifth Harmony‘s “Work From Home,” a sultry, snappy little club groove featuring Ty Dolla $ign that has the ladies taking a decidedly more mature approach to pop.

The video is a campy construction-site endeavor that flips the table on the group’s male co-stars and makes them the objectified ones, as 5H taunt the guys by posing their tools as phallic symbols and twerking mischievously. In other words, Fifth Harmony, at least for this video, appear to now be in full control of their collective sexuality and wielding it as they choose — something right out of the Madonna Pop Guidebook — rather than relying on it solely to sell records.

Also, the most important factor here: “Work From Home” is pure and simple fun.

Keep it up, girls, and you might just finally break through in a big way.
