Ciara Cancels ‘Jackie’ Tour Dates To Work On A New Album

When inspiration strikes, you have to act.

That is Ciara‘s logic, anyway, for canceling this spring’s North American leg of her Jackie tour, which was to kick off March 30 in Anaheim, California. While she announced these 18 dates back in November, Ciara says that she has since started working on her eighth album, to where she doesn’t want to stop just yet.

“I’m currently in the process of making the best album of my career!” she says on Facebook. “I want to give all of you an incredible show… A show that you deserve! Therefore, I gotta stay focused in the studio and commit myself to this new music.”

Ticketmaster says that these dates have been canceled and ticket sales will be refunded.

Ciara’s latest would follow up 2015’s Jackie, which she named after her mother; the pop-R&B effort featured producers Dr. Luke, Polow da Don and Harmony Samuels, along with cameos by Missy Elliott and Pitbull.
