18 Mariah Carey Songs That Deserved To Reach #1
We curated this list in celebration of Mariah Carey's '#1 To Infinity' compilation.

It’s an incredibly busy time for Mariah Carey. The 45-year-old is currently on the road with The Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, which is also being filmed for an eight-part reality TV show (or “docu-series”). She then returns to Las Vegas to resume her residency and will try to find the time to plan her wedding to Australian billionaire James Packer. Mama Lamb touched on many of these commitments in an interview with The Sunday Times’ Style Magazine.

In fact, Mimi was unusually candid about her imminent nuptials. She showed off her giant engagement ring (“I try not to take things for granted”) and explained why she’s rushing to the alter. “I am very traditional,” the pop legend said. “I have babies, it’s more appropriate. I don’t know if most people can relate to that, but that’s just how I feel.” However, Mariah refused to talk about her fiance. “If I start talking about this relationship, people will interpret it in their own way, so I think it’s safer for everyone involved to just not talk about the very personal aspect.”

As for that upcoming E! reality show? The serial chart-topper is doing it for the Lambs. “It’s a big thing for me. Yes, it’s annoying,” she admitted. “I wanted to document this tour because I don’t know when I am going on tour again. I wish I could have documented other tours. I am doing it for the fans — they’ll love it.” And given the camera crew that now follows her every move, Mariah is determined to look her best.

“I am a pretty insecure person, but I have to get over that because this is the reality of my life,” the usually Elusive Chanteuse revealed. “I look better than I looked a few months ago, but I am definitely not one of those people who says, ‘I look amazing today.'” Amusingly, this is when her inner-diva finally reemerged. “I have to point out this is a rented house — I would never have overhead lighting,” Mariah said of the interview venue. “High hats, they call them. In my apartment in New York, it’s all recessed lighting, chandeliers, candles. This lighting is abusive.”
