MAGIC! Tease Sean Paul-Assisted Single “Lay You Down Easy”
Toronto quartet MAGIC! return to the music scene today with a preview of new single “Lay You Down Easy” (due March 25). Featuring dancehall legend Sean Paul, the cheeky anthem (“I’m hoping to lay you down easy”) picks up where breakthrough hit “Rude” left off — with an easy reggae groove and an instantly catchy chorus. It’s the first taste of the hitmakers’ upcoming sophomore LP, which is expected to arrive in the summer.
MAGIC! seemingly came out of nowhere with in 2014. Fronted by singer/songwriter/producer Nasri Atweh, the band caught lightning in a bottle with debut single “Rude.” After a slow start, the sing-along anthem eventually clicked at radio and spent six weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It went on to sell triple platinum and rivaled Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy” as the Song Of The Summer. Listen to a snippet of their latest below.
