Cosmos & Creature Cover Iggy Azalea’s “Team”: Idolator Premiere
2016 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Cosmos & Creature. Comprised of Brandyn Burnette and Molly Moore, the Los Angeles-based pop duo currently feature on two massive club records (Lost Kings’ “Marathon” and Vicetone’s “Bright Side”) and have a much-anticipated EP on the way. They should generate even buzz with their brooding cover of Iggy Azalea’s “Team” — a borderline gothic interpretation that imbues the song with a ghostly quality.
“On first listen, we thought the new Iggy track was really energetic,” they say of the quirky cover. “We kept hearing melodies instead of the rap. To take a creative break from writing and producing our first EP, we decided it would be a fun experiment to put our own flip on ‘Team.’ We spent that night working out a piano/vocal arrangement that we liked, produced this version ourselves and mixed it the following day.
