Tegan & Sara Share Another “Boyfriend” Snippet: Listen
Tegan and Sara shared another snippet of new single, “Boyfriend.” And if this preview is any sign, then the Quin sisters are feeling as giddy as ever.
The first featured a wash of synths and romantic lyrics. But the second and latest has a beat drop and a schoolyard chant of a hook. “You treat me like your boyfriend / and trust me like a, like a very best friend,” they sing. “Boyfriend” sounds as exuberant as 2013’s “Closer.” That Heartthrob single marked Tegan and Sara’s transition from sharp folk-rock to bubbly synth-pop.
Those who preorder Tegan and Sara’s album Love You to Death will receive “Boyfriend” when it drops April 8. Hear the latest snippet below.
