Jason Derulo's new single is the latest to get dragged under the Idolator microscope.

Singer and rapper Minzy has left K-pop group 2NE1. Remaining members CL, Dara and Park Bom will continue as a trio, with new music due out this summer.

Minzy, a longtime YG Entertainment signee, joined 2NE1 in 2009 at age 15. YG hasn’t disclosed why she left, just that she declined to renew her contract.

“Sending away someone who has been with us for 11 years since her trainee days is difficult for all but due to the sudden hiatus 2 years ago, Gong Minzy had some hard times that we full [sic] understand,” YG says in a statement. “Rather than feeling upset, we are apologetic towards her.”

The hiatus that YG speaks of was from a legal issue that led to Park Bom taking a break. But the group appeared as tight as ever last December. During the Mnet Asian Music Awards, CL brought out the rest of 2NE1 to sing 2009 hit “Fire.”
