David Bowie’s “I Can’t Give Everything Away”: Watch The Animated Video
Knowing as we do now that David Bowie had his own mortality on the mind while recording Blackstar, his 28th and final studio album released in the legendary musician’s lifetime, tracks like soaring closing number “I Can’t Give Everything Away” seem all the more poignant. The song, a standout upon the first listen, is a natural fit for the third single release off the LP.

Blackstar album designer Jonathan Barnbrook has created a “visual interpretation” of “I Can’t Give Everything Away” that’s part surreal animation, part lyric video (though only part of the lyrics are there for you to see). The rest is a dazzling art piece filled with dancing stars and, at the very end, music’s favorite Starman ascending into the heavens in some far off galaxy.
