Astrid S Performs An Acoustic Version Of “Running Out”: Idolator Premiere
Astrid S is shaping up to be Scandinavia’s next break-out pop princess. The 19-year-old has blog-land buzzing with “Paper Thin,” the first track off her self-titled debut EP (due May 20), and is currently opening for Troye Sivan on his 18-date European tour. She also has a hit on her hands with frosty Matoma collaboration “Running Out,” which has racked up 58 million streams on Spotify — and counting.
The Norwegian newcomer now unveils a stunning acoustic version of the track, and it’s fascinating to hear the song in its original form. Astrid performs “Running Out” in a studio with only a piano for accompaniment — pouring every ounce of emotion into her heartfelt vocal.
