Watch Justin Bieber Cover Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River” At His Latest Purpose Tour Stop

Justin Bieber has previously expressed how Justin Timberlake‘s career arc has inspired his own pop growth. And last night (April 20) at his Purpose Tour show in Louisville, Bieber took on “Cry Me A River,” the 2002 breakup single that really cemented Timberlake as a post-*NSYNC adult pop force. Bieber has covered it before (look at this lil guy!), but it resonates a bit more now that he’s made that transition as well.

Bieber was seated and strumming an acoustic guitar alone on stage for the unplugged cover, and once the chorus hit, the shrieks nearly drowned out his performance.
