On Saturday (April 23), Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to Prince during his set at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center with a poignant cover of “Purple Rain.” Now, The Boss has shared that performance online as a free digital download.

Cast in a purple glow, the E Street Band opened up the show with the 1984 classic and featured heart-wrenching vocals from the New Jersey rock legend, as well as a scorching rendition of the song’s unique guitar solo by Nils Lofgren. “Prince forever! God bless,” exclaimed Springsteen as the number drew to a close.

Springsteen’s cover is just one of the many tribute performances to the funk icon as of late. Usher, Chris Stapleton and even the casts of The Color Purple and Hamilton have all paid homage to Prince since his passing.
