Autre Ne Veut’s Cover Of Prince’s “Little Red Corvette” Isn’t For Everyone
Prince tributes have been pouring in since the legend died at age 57 on Thursday (April 21). And now that we’ve recovered after the initial shock and gathered ourselves after the weekend’s Lemonade madness, one tribute that’s worth highlighting is Autre Ne Veut‘s “Little Red Corvette” cover.
We named ANV’s Age Of Transparency one of the best alt-pop albums of 2015, but it’s a divisive offering, and Arthur Ashin’s voice can be an acquired taste. That carries through on his reinterpretation of the 1983 single, as he strips it down into a bedroom ballad and places that voice up front.
