You have to go all the way back to July of last year to find the last US-born artist(s) to top the Billboard Hot 100 — and that would be Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, with their Furious 7 soundtrack smash, “See You Again.” Since then, it’s been a succession of acts from outside the States that have led the main singles chart over the past 41 weeks…well, until yesterday, when Brooklyn rapper Desiigner took over with his breakout hit “Panda.”
