Alicia Keys Performs “In Common” & “Hallelujah” On ‘Saturday Night Live’: Watch
Alicia Keys is a new woman. That was the biggest takeaway from her May 7 performance on Saturday Night Live, her third time on the show.
She performed two new songs off her sixth album. The first was “In Common,” Alicia’s unexpected turn at the dance floor from last week. Then came neo-gospel track “Hallelujah.” There were hand claps and organ notes, though its dramatic backing strings ultimately made it sound like the next Bond theme. These songs weren’t the Stevie Wonder or Prince-inspired piano pop of Alicia’s past, but a new take on genres that she hasn’t tackled before.
