Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani’s Duet “Go Ahead And Break My Heart” Isn’t Too Shabby

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since last summer, you know that sometimes-Voicemates Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been “an item” since their splits from their respective spouses. Perhaps less common knowledge is that the pair have recorded a duet called “Go Ahead And Break My Heart” that will appear on country crooner Shelton’s upcoming 10th studio album If I’m Honest (out May 20).

“Go Ahead And Break My Heart” has popped up online here and there in recent hours and we’d rate it just below Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson‘s “Don’t You Wanna Stay” as far as country-pop crossover duets go. (That’s a good thing, because “Don’t You Wanna Stay” is golden.)

Gwen is no stranger to changing up genres, having hopped on songs by a varied array of artists that includes Moby, Eve, Maroon 5 and even her soon-to-be ex-husband’s band Bush. And believe it or not, country isn’t a bad fit at all for the Orange County diva. Who knows — maybe she’ll pull a Cyndi Lauper and take a little honky tonk detour of her own.

We’ll post Blake and Gwen’s pair-up about startin’ over here once it premieres online. For now you can grab the song off iTunes.
