Azealia Banks’ Twitter Account Has Been Suspended

Shy, wilting flower of song Azealia Banks shouldn’t be bothering anyone on Twitter (for a day or two, at least — we’ve seen this before, after all), as it seems her account has been suspended. In the past five days alone, the label-less Banks furiously typed out a barrage of NSFW insults aimed at Zayn Malik, Hillary Clinton, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Skai Jackson.

“Pillowtalk” hit-maker Zayn took the brunt of Banks’ vitriol, following the release of his “Like I Would” video earlier this week (which Banks’ deemed to be similar to her “Chasing Time” visual, due to both clips involving the respective musicians wearing colored contact lenses).

According to NME, Azealia Banks is now reportedly being investigated by the UK’s Home Office over her tweets regarding Zayn, and she could find herself banned from the country entirely. British law prohibits harassment of individuals stemming from racial hatred.

In a statement issued to NME, the Home Office noted the following: “Coming to the UK is a privilege, and we expect those who come here to respect our shared values. The Home Secretary has the power to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good or if their exclusion is justified on public policy grounds.”

Just a sampling of Banks’ many since-deleted tweets at Zayn earlier this week: “Token sand nigga pout: ‘I was the least celebrated in the white boy group because I’m brown’.”

What a time, folks.
